Gharib Hissou, member of the Committee of diplomatic relations in the Kurdish Supreme Council, stressed the importance of the agreement between the KNC (Kurdish National Council) and the PCWK (People’s Council of Western Kurdistan) and the need to reopen the Semalka border crossing.

Both sides also stressed the need for a single and unified Kurdish participation at the Geneva 2 talks.

Regarding the stance of the KNC on the interim government project Hissou stated, “The PCWK has discussed this issue before with the KNC, and we have reached and agreement”. Although there remains some details to discuss with regards to the latest agreement, Hissous expressed that he was an optimist.
