Before Snowfall, by director Hisham Zaman, is a thought-provoking look at honor killing and the intricate web of connections that sustain the brutal tradition. Siyar comes face to face with his own sense of loyalty, dignity, honor and love when he follows his elder sister Nermin who flees an arranged marriage. On his mission to restore the family honor, his fate links him to Evin, a young girl living on the streets of Istanbul. As Siyar ventures farther away from home and his relationship with Evin deepens, he faces a moral crisis. Hisham Zaman’s epic feature takes the audience on a journey through Kurdistan and to Europe.
