Information stands in Bern and Solothurn demand "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan"

At the stands opened in Bern and Solothurn for the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish problem" campaign, a call was made to participate in the 25 November marches.

Protests continue in Switzerland within the framework of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish problem" initiative, which was launched globally on 10 October to demand the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Stands were opened on Friday in the capital Bern and Solothurn.

BERN

The Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Committee, established in Bern, set up a stand at Bahnhofplatz. At the stand, the absolute isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan for years was explained to the people coming to the stand. In addition, Abdullah Öcalan's books were introduced to the Swiss public.

Hınar Dilmeç, co-chair of the Bern Democratic Kurdish Community Center, said that as part of the initiative launched under the leadership of the friends of the Kurdish people, they took to the streets and demanded the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. Dilmeç said: "We call on everyone who is pro-democracy and has a conscience to take part in this initiative."

Dilbirin Turgut, a journalist and activist who is part of the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Committee, said that the Imrali isolation torture has evolved into an unacceptable process for the Kurdish people.

Stating that their actions for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan are continuing uninterruptedly in dozens of cities across Switzerland, Dilbirin Turgut said: “The ideas of Leader Apo, who paved the way for freedom for Kurdish women, became the hope of salvation for all oppressed peoples. In this context, we will continue to explain Leader Apo's democratic, ecological and women's libertarian paradigm and demand the freedom of our Leader in the 25 November protests to be held in dozens of cities in Switzerland today.”

SOLOTHURN

An information stand was opened in Solothurn on Thursday and ended with a press conference on Friday.

The stand opened in Kreuzacker Square was visited, among others, by the mayor of Solothurn, canton MPs, representatives of political parties and civil society organizations. Activists informed visitors about the extent of the isolation.

Speaking on the second day of the protest, Politician Serhat Agirî, after explaining the Imrali isolation system and drawing attention to the crises in the Middle East, said: "The only way to get rid of this crisis and chaos lies in the perspective offered to us by our Leader. As we spread this perspective to the whole world, we will ensure the freedom of both our Leader and the Kurdish people."

Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Committee member Mazlum Kızıldağ said that they will continue to be in the streets within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish Question" initiative and called for participation in the central celebration to be held in Lucerne on 2 December on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the PKK.
