Federal Kurdistan Region has been the scene of an intense military activity since Wednesday evening.

The activity of warplanes continued throughout the night in the regions of Xakurke, Are, Berekeş, Kanî Reş, Ser Rûbare Sergem, Basyan, Qelêt, Çarçelan, Avaşîn and Şehîdan controlled by HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas.
Unmanned aerial vehicles continued till Thursday morning to fly over the regions of Yüksekova, Şemdinli, Derecik (Rubarûk), Dağlıca (Oramar) and Dostki in the province of Hakkari.

On the other hand, a number of helicopters carrying specially trained soldiers have landed in the military bases recently built in the Kurdish region.
Many soldiers and munitions have also been transferred to the Tekeli (Gare) and Derecik (Rubarûk) battalions with armored military vehicles.

A large number of tanks, howitzers and munitions have reportedly been transferred from Van to the border region in the last two days.

The intense military activity has caused concerns for the people living in the region which has been relatively calm for the last eight months.
