The Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced in a statement regarding ongoing operations in Selahattin Province that 96 settlements, including towns and districts, have been taken under the control of Iraqi government forces.
The Ministry said that operations in Selahattin province are continuing and that the Iraqi forces have recaptured an extensive part of Tikrit, while ISIS still continues to hold some parts of the town. The statement also said ISIS has suffered heavy losses in air strikes.
In the meantime, reports are coming through saying that the ISIS gangs suffering losses in the clashes in Tikrit have received reinforcements from the Hawija district of Kirkuk in South Kurdistan.
