Days before the May 12 parliamentary elections in Iraq, another political murder has been committed.

Faruk Zırzur Cuburi, a candidate in the Patriotic Alliance led by Iyad Alavi, was stabbed to death in his home in the al-Iezega village in the Kayyara district of Mosul by unidentified persons.

Sunni MP candidate Cuburi also taught in a university in Mosul. No official statement has been released yet regarding his murder.
