Yildirim: Isolation is a result of Turkey’s defeat against Ocalan

Peoples’ Democracy Party (HDP) deputy co-chair Nadir Yildirim said the Turkish policies against Abdullah Ocalan threatens the co-existence of peoples and a democratic future of Turkey.

HDP’s Yildirim also said that the isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali Island is a result of Turkey’s defeat against Ocalan.

Speaking to ANF Turkish Service, Van MP Nadir Yildirim talked about the aggravated isolation on Abdullah Ocalan. Yildirim criticized Turkish state of putting the co-existence of peoples in danger in Turkey and said: “The Erdogan-Bahceli government cannot calculate the results of the isolation on Ocalan, or maybe they are not aware of it.  Considering how Kurds evaluated the prison conditions in Imrali, the Imrali regime, the insistence on isolation policy threatens co-existence of people and a democratic future.”

Yildirim said the aggravation of isolation is related to the resistance by Ocalan and added: “Ocalan’s paradigm showed success with Rojava Revolution while almost all international actors suffered losses and faced defeats in the Middle East. The isolation policy is not only limited to the Turkish state, it surely has an international aspect.”

Yildirim warned Turkish state about Abdullah Ocalan’s health said: “There are some red lines for Kurdish people and Ocalan’s health is one of them.  A threat or a speculation against this red line will drag Turkey to a point where a normal life will not be possible. Therefore, getting information about Ocalan’s health and creation of circumstances in which Ocalan will be free will be the focal point of our struggle.”

Yildirim called on all people in Turkey to join the actions to protest the isolation on Abdullah Ocalan and said that the current resistance level is not enough to break the isolation in Imrali.

He also criticized Committee on Prevention of Torture and Ill-Treatment (CPT) for not fulfilling its responsibilities and said “The CPT’s attitude confirms our remarks about the international aspect of the isolation policies. We call upon them again to stop the hypocrite policy and start to act upon their own norms.”
