Israel-Iran tensions rise in Syria

Israel has carried out an air strike in Syria citing that Iranian forces fired missiles into Golan Heights.

Syria’s official news agency SANA announced that the first attack came at 01.30 over the Lebanese air space and continued for hours. SANA also published footage of aerial defense system responding to the attacks.

ISRAEL: “WILL BE SERIOUSLY RETALIATED”

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed the operation and stated that the “Israeli army continues to strike Iranian targets”. Adraee also said the response to the operations will be a “serious retaliation”.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Last night there were 20 missile strikes targeting Israel from Syrian territory. The Israeli army claimed that the attack was carried out by Iran’s Jerusalem Forces under direct orders from Commander Kasım Suleymani himself. Israel announced no casualties in the missile strikes. Syrian media announced around the same time that Israel carried out an attack against the Baas town in the Kuneytra province to the south of the country.
