KCDK-E calls for participation in Strasbourg rally for Öcalan

Action called ’Öcalan’s freedom is our freedom’ to be organised on 6 November in Strasbourg.

European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E) Co-Presidency Council issued a written statement about the actions to be taken for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

According to the statement, on 6 November in Strasbourg, there will be a central action called ’Öcalan’s freedom is our freedom’.

The KCDK-E called on all peoples to support the action.

The statement said: “Öcalan, who has been held hostage on the island of İmralı for over 20 years without any respect for law, is our free will, his freedom is our freedom”.

The heavy isolation imposed on Leader Öcalan, continued the statement “aims at hitting the Kurdish people and their struggle for freedom by completely ignoring the legal system”.

Such isolation has no equals

The statement continued; “Kurdish People’s Leader Öcalan is the architect of the democratic nation paradigm, the common free and equal life model proposed for all peoples and beliefs. He has been facing unprecedented isolation for 20 years.

The international conspiracy carried out 20 years ago targeted the liberation struggle of Kurdistan and the hope of the people of the Middle East together with the struggle for democracy. The resistance of our patriotic people and friends, became a circle around the resistance of the Kurdish people's leader, Mr. Öcalan, and actually made this conspiracy fail. The paradigm of democratic nation is growing as the hope of different identities and beliefs in Kurdistan, the Middle East and the world”.

Erdogan fears the women’s freedom paradigm

The freedom and egalitarian paradigm, implemented in Rojava, said the statement “is being practiced and has attracted attention all over the world. This frightens dictator Erdogan and his collaborators. The monopoly nation-state systems that do not promise anything other than war, massacres, suffering and poverty have therefore waged war against Leader Apo and his thoughts.

While in Turkey and the Middle East, democracy, equality and freedom were proposed, an even aggravated isolation was imposed on Öcalan on Imrali island. In fact, this isolation has been developed against the peoples of Kurdistan and against anyone who wants democracy in in Turkey and the Middle East. For this reason, Öcalan is kept under heavy isolation in Imrali and massacres policies are implemented against the peoples of Kurdistan”.

The statement also condemned the latest decision by the European Court of Human Rights which considered there is no torture and violation of human rights in such a heavy isolation. This, the statement said, confirms that the “AKP-MHP fascist government can count on tacit support from international powers”.

“Instead of supporting peace in Turkey, the European Court of Human Rights sentence has condoned the practice of isolation thus closing an eye on the Turkish government policy of war”.

Call

The KCDC-E ended its statement with a call “to all Kurds who live in Europe, Turkish democrats and socialists, intellectuals, academics, Assyrian-Syriac, Armenian, Laz, Circassian, women, youth, Alevi, Yazidi, Christian, Muslim and European Democrats, to demonstrate on 6 November.
