KCK greets the uprising for Kobanê
KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement regarding the ongoing uprising for Kobanê in North Kurdistan.
KCK stated that they supported and greeted the uprising in North Kurdistan and Turkey, but decisively disapproved actions and attempts such as setting schools on fire, attacking Ataturk statues and plundering acts, and saw those doing all these as provocateurs.
KCK said the Turkish state had a role in the attacks by Hüdapar (Hür Dava Partisi, Free Cause Party) circles, warning; "The Turkish state must immediately abandon these dirty policies and the Hüdapar must never repeat the past."
KCK said the Kobanê resistance continuing in its 24th day with the spirit of devotion was the resistance for honour, of not only Kurds but also of all the oppressed, all the faiths and cultures.
Recalling that the people of Kurdistan in all four parts along with their friends maintain and step up the resistance against fascist ISIS forces and wrong policies of the Turkish state, KCK said they esteemed all those who have fallen in the resistance in Kobanê, North Kurdistan, Turkey, Merivan and Sine, and offered their condolences to their families. KCK also repeated their promise to crown the memory of the martyrs with victory.
KCK commented that the rising up of the Kurdish people against the besiege of Kobanê, the hostility of the ISIS fascism against the people and faith groups, and the policies imposed by the Turkish state was a legitimate and an honorable stance.
“No one can expect the Kurds to remain silent in face of a massacre and attacks to be committed against our people in Kobanê right near them. The resistance will extensively be spread further as long as Kobanê remains under siege, the ISIS fascisms continues its attacks and the AKP continues to follow its current policies”, KCK underlined.
KCK said in this regard they greeted and supported the uprising but decisively disapproved, if reports by Turkish media are true, actions and attempts such as setting schools on fire, attacking the values of the Turkish people such as Ataturk statues or Turkish flags, and plundering acts, adding that they saw those doing all these as provocateurs.
Stressing that the Kurdish people defending Kobanê are defending their free future, KCK said that in this sense, Kobanê and Pirsus (Suruç) have united. KCK continued by underlining that the Kurdish people would have no reason to step up the uprising to this level if the AKP government had not supported ISIS and had undertaken its responsibilities towards the Kobanê people who it says are brothers.
“Therefore, the AKP government is responsible for all the things happening and being lived through. Opening a corridor to convey all kinds of assistance in order for the people of Kobanê to defend themselves against ISIS fascism would bring along the normalisation of the process”, KCK underlined.
Reminding that many people have lost their lives or injured as a result of attacks of Hüdapar members and supporters on the people demonstrating for Kobanê, KCK emphasised that Hüdapar must immediately stop its attacks and massacre attempts, and not itself to be used once again in order to avoid a repetition of the former consequences, thinking carefully which powers it had been used by in the past.
KCK continued by emphasisingi that;“The aim of the colonialists is to have the Kurds kill each other. In the recent incidents, it is certain that the Turkish state has played a role as much as the Hüdapar itself. It should be known well that the attacks will not be left unanswered in the event that they continue. The Turkish state must immediately abandon these dirty policies and the Hüdapar must never repeat the past.”
KCK said it will not help resolve any problem to say that Kobanê is about to fall, underlining that the Kurds and their friends will continue their resistance everywhere alongside the Kobanê resistance, marking the anniversary of the international conspiracy which ended up with Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s departure from Syria on 9 October 1998.
The resistance in Kobanê is one for humanity, KCK said and called on the humanity to support the resistance in Kobanê and to stand by the Kurdish people resisting the fascist ISIS forces.
