KCK: We give full support to the Hewler meeting

Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement about the Hewler meeting which will be led by KRG (Kurdistan Regional Government) President Massoud Barzani and held in order for the revival of the Kurdish Supreme Council (Desteya Bilind a Kurd).

KCK remarked that they give full support to the Hewler meeting which -it said- is a consequence of the talks between KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) and the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party).

"Should the meeting witness the determination of a joint attitude towards the Geneva Conference within the body of Desteya Bilind, and the strengthening of the interim administration, it will have a major role in the resolution of the Kurdish question and democratisation in Syria", KCK said and remarked that the meeting will also lead up to significant results concerning the Rojava revolution.

Referring to the attitudes intending to weaken the Rojava revolution, KCK said these approaches do not only produce negative consequences for the national unity but also encourage the political powers that do not want the freedom of the Kurdish people.

KCK said the Kurdish movement has taken responsibility for the elimination of these negative conditions and unity of political powers in Rojava, and said "It is a significant step to revive the Desteya Bilind which was established by West Kurdistan People's Assembly (MGRK) and Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) in Rojava as a result of the talks between the PKK and the KDP. This is because of the fact that all patriotic forces bear responsibility for utilizing the the historic opportunity and the great Rojava revolution. The unity of all patriotic powers in Rojava in accordance with the agreement between PKK and KDP, and the determination of common policies and approaches will provide very significant consequences for the Rojava revolution". KCK added that the first Hewler meeting in 2011 had also been held in the scope of such a consensus.

Calling on all political powers in Rojava and four parts of Kurdistan to bear responsibility in this historic process and to meet the expectations of the Kurdish people, KCK ended the statement by laying emphasis on the Kurdish movement's support to the Rojava revolution, and wished success for the Hewler meeting.
