Kurdish MPs in Iran call on the UN to act against Turkey’s crimes

The Kurdish MPs condemned Turkey's against the Kurds with a green light from the Western and Eastern superpowers and called on the UN and human rights advocates to stop these crimes and the Turkish occupation of northern Syria.

Kurdish MPs in Iranian Parliament wrote a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, and condemned the Turkish state's threats against the Kurds in Rojava.

In the letter, Kurdish MPs pointed out to the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish government and its mercenary allies, saying that Turkish army, with the help of mercenaries and the green light of some superpowers, intends to attack Rojava again.

In their letter, the MPs condemned the terrorist attack on a Kurdish father and his son in Sakarya, Turkey, which led to the death of the father merely for speaking in Kurdish, “This tragedy took place because of Turkey’s hate policies and the spread of racism and fascism in the country by the ruling system,” the MPs said. Representatives also cited the continued attacks by the Turkish government on North Kurdish cities and the imprisonment of the HDP MPs, as well as the ban on Kurdish language in public places in the country and condemned the fascist policies of the Turkish state against the Kurds.

Furthermore, the letter condemns the invasion by the Turkish government in Iraq and Syria, and described the aggressions of the Turkish army as an act of ethnic cleansing of the Kurds.
