Turkish police forces conducted an operation against Kurdish politicians in Turkish capital city Ankara Monday morning.
11 people have reportedly been detained in today’s operation, who include Seydi Fırat, a member of the First Peace Group that came to Turkey in 1999 upon the call of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
In the meantime, writer Fikret Başkaya, who was also detained in Ankara this morning, has been released after giving a statement. The investigation against Başkaya will reportedly continue.
