The birthday of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan was celebrated through various activities in all regions, cities and villages where Kurds live in Russia.
The Kurds living in Krasnodar, Saratov and Stavropol regions celebrated Öcalan's 73rd birthday on Monday.
KRASNODAR
The Kurds came together in Platnîrovskaya village of Krasnodar city and organized a concert to celebrate Öcalan's birthday. Following a moment of silence, a documentary about the life of the Kurdish leader was screened during the event.
Kurdish Assembly Co-Chair Tahir Newroz and Youth Committee Member Tîlal Dadoyev said that April 4 means the rebirth of the Kurdish people.
Artists Ahmed Ahmedov, Gulîzar Şaxbazova, Ruslan Aliyev and Barî Yusubov appeared on stage during the celebration.
SARATOV
Kurds came together in Mala Gel in the Yershov city of the Saratov region and celebrated Öcalan's birthday.
Kamuran Gasanov and Barî Aliyev took the stage following the speeches of Women's Council Member Gûlîzer Yusubova, Kurdish Assembly Co-Chair Mirzaalî Yusubov and Assembly Member Sultan Yusubov.
STAVROPOL
The Kurds living in the city of Stavropol came together and planted saplings to mark Öcalan's birthday. Children cut a birthday cake after planting the saplings.
