A man was shot by police near the Prime Minister's Office in Ankara on Thursday.

The man, who reportedly died at the scene of incident, was immediately taken to a hospital after being shot. Contraddictory reports are coming through as to who was the man, why he was shot, which threat, if any, did he pose.

Police said the man was carrying explosives on him and when he refused to stop and comply with their orders they shot him.
