Marches against PKK ban in Germany
Kurdish people in Germany are organising marches in many cities against the ban on the PKK. The first of the marches will take place today in Dortmund. There will also be marches in Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich.
On the 21st year of the ban on the PKK that was imposed in 1993, the Kurds are preparing rallies to demand the lifting of the ban. The call for the rallies has been issued by the Kurdistan Student Unions (YXK).
The YXK statement stressed that: “The PKK is a liberation movement. It has proved once again by its struggle against the ISIS gangs in the Middle East. We demand the lifting of the ban on the PKK, which has already become a legitimate movement for the peoples of the world”.
YXK called for a strong participation in the rallies that will take place in many cities of Germany.
The massacres in Kobane and Sinjar will also be protested at the rallies, which are supported by dozens of organizations all over Germany. The first rally is to take place today at 14:00 at the central station. The rallies in Frankfurt and Munich will take place on 19 November, while the one in Cologne is planned to take place in December.
