A commemoration event for the Martyrs of May was held in Stockholm. At the commemoration held at the Stockholm Kurdish Cultural Association, Ferhat Kurtay, Necmi Öner, Mahmut Zengin, Eşref Anyık, as well as YJA STAR and Botan commander Leyla Sorxwîn, and PKK Central Committee Member Kasım Engin were commemorated.

Politician Senanik Öner gave a speech. Öner said: "Every era creates its own heroes."

Öner spoke about the elections and said: "Whatever the outcome, our struggle and work will continue everywhere. Because this struggle did not start with an election, and it will not end with an election."
