Ministry of Justice rejects Gencer's lawyers request to transfer trial for killings of Deniz Poyraz
The request for the transfer of the case against Onur Gencer, who murdered Deniz Poyraz, to Kayseri was rejected.
The Ministry of Justice did not accept the request to transfer the trial of the killer, Onur Gencer, from İzmir to Kayseri. Gencer carried out an armed attack on the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir provincial building on 17 June and murdered Deniz Poyraz.
The Ministry of Justice responded to Gencer's lawyer's application requesting the transfer. However, the letter from the General Directorate of Criminal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, established that the reasons for requesting the transfer were not founded and and that the case should continue to be heard in İzmir.
The next hearing will be held at the İzmir Bayraklı Courthouse on 29 April.
