More arrests in Amed and Muş

Eight people including five minors have been remanded in custody for alleged involvement in the conflict that erupted following the 1 November rally for Kobanê in the main Kurdish city Amed.

Police had detained 11 people in a large scale house-raid operation after the mass demo on 1 November International Day of Global Action for Kobanê. The detainees were later referred to a court and demanded to be arrested for "participating unlawful demonstrations".

Three minors have been subjected to supervised release while 8 other people who also include 5 minors have been arrested for allegedly participating unlawful demonstrations and opposing the law on meetings and demonstrations.

On the other hand, five other people were taken into custody in Malazgirt district of Muş for taking part in demos in protest against attacks on Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava.

One out of 5 detainees who were taken to police headquarters was released, while four others are still being held in custody.
