Clashes broke out between al-Qaeda linked gang groups and western Kurdistan's People's Defense Units (YPG) in Girkê Legê on Wednesday.

Nine members of the groups were killed in the attack YPG launched against a vehicle used by the armed groups in the Yusufiye village on 28 August night. Clashes later expanded to the villages of Girhok, Sefa, Yusufiye and Girê Fatê.

Short-lasting clashes also took place in the villages of Susik, Kendal, Çelbê, Til Findir and Camis of the Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) border city.
