Number of detentions in Maraş rise to 12

The number of those detained during house raids in Maraş province has risen to 12.

Turkish police and gendarmerie forces have carried out house raids in Nurhak and Ekinözü districts of Maraş province early Wednesday morning.

While the cause for detentions was not disclosed, the detainees have been taken to the the provincial police department.

Those taken into custody in today’s operation include HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Nurhak district administrator Bahir Horoz, IHD (Human Rights Association) member Volkan Doğan, HDP Ekinözü former district administrators Hacı Uzun and Dursun Bahça and HDP member Mehmet Biçer.
