One wounded as gangs open fire on border village in Urfa

ISIS gangs are continuing to target civilians after suffering heavy defeats in clashes with YPG/YPJ [People's/Women's Protection Units] in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan.

Gangs have this time opened fire on the village of Etmanek in Suruç district of Urfa overlooking the Kobanê town Monday afternoon.

23 years old Ehmed Kalo from Kobanê who was on a visit to his relatives in the village was injured after a bullet hit him on the shoulder. The youth was first rushed to Suruç State Hospital from where he was referred to the Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital in Urfa.

Ali Kaya, a relative of Kalo, told the followings as to how the incident occurred; "We were sitting in the garden of the house, watching the clashes on the other side of the border. Bullets started to be raided on us in the meantime. We lied down on the ground in order to protect ourselves. For a moment, Kalo stood up and was hit by a bullet on the shoulder as soon as he did. We called an ambulance and brought him here."

Kaya said that a number of houses in Etmanek, the closest village to the Mürşitpınar border crossing, have been hit by mortar shells, missiles and bullets fired by ISIS gangs recently. He added that Turkish soldiers however took no security measures in face of the ongoing attacks by the gangs.
