Operations against gangs continue in Jazaa
YPG (People’s Protection Units) Press Centre has issued a statement announcing that at least 8 gang members were killed in an operation launched against ISIS gangs to the north west of Jazaa.
Stating that the YPG fighters launched an operation against ISIS gangs who were deployed between the villages of Arcê and Henwê to the north-west of Jazaa yesterday at around 22:00, the Press Centre declared that at least 8 gang members were killed.
The details of the operation were given as: "an operation targeting the positions of the gangs was carried out by YPG fighters and the position was effectively hit."
Other forces of the gangs in two groups with vehicles and infantry who attempted to break the operation were hit by the YPG fighters. 2 vehicles, including a vehicle with an anti-aircraft gun were destroyed and the gangs had to escape.
It was observed that at least 8 gang members were killed and many others were wounded. Meanwhile, 1 gang member, 1 motorcycle and 1 Kalashnikov and equipment were captured by YPG fighters.
According to the statement issued by the YPG Press Centre, ISIS gangs attempted to attack the village of Dugurman to the west of Kobanê. Stating that a short clash broke out after YPG fighters responded to the attack, the YPG Press Centre said that the gangs had to flee the area after the clash. The casualties of the ISIS gangs couldn’t be clarified, the YPG Press Centre said.
