People marching to border crossing as clashes intensify – FLASH

A vigil initiated by thousands of people at 15 different points along the Suruç-Kobanê border, is continuing.

The vigil has been initiated in the villages of Etmanik, Mehser, Zehwan, Kazika, Merdêsimêl, Musik, Kop, Xerebesk, Elîzêr, Perepere, Oxan, Boydê, Hanêrk, Tilwerdan and Siwêdê which are located at the border.

Kurdish demonstrators who have formed a three-kilometer-long human chain at the border have started to march to the Mürşitpınar border crossing as clashes have intensified on three fronts in Kobanê on Friday.

On the other side of the border, ISIS attacks have launched a new wave of intensified attacks with heavy weaponry last night, advancing towards the canton from all three fronts.

While fierce clashes in Kobanê are continuing, ISIS gangs have also targeted the people joining the vigil at the border, carrying out artillery and mortar attacks on the villages of Siwêdê and Mirana, in Suruç district of Urfa, which ae located across the scene of clashes on the Kobanê side.

The people joining the vigil, which has been extended to an area of 30 km borderline, have in the meantime started to head toward the southern front of Kobanê where clashes are getting heavier.
