Police attack station massacre commemoration, detain 11

Turkish police attacked those who marched to the Station Square to commemorate the people who lost their lives in the Ankara Station Massacre, and detained 11 people.

Democratic mass organizations gathered at the Ulus Metro exit to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Ankara Station Massacre. The crowd wanted to march to the Station Square, where the massacre took place.

The families of those who lost their lives in the massacre and the people, including HDP deputies Kemal Bülbül and Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki, were blocked by the police at the exit of the subway. Police said the march was not allowed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

After the debate, the police attacked the public and detained 11 people.

Families and democratic mass organizations came together at another point to attend the commemoration after the police attack were also not allowed to demonstrate because of the pandemic.
