Amed People's Initiative has released a written statement calling on people to partecipate in the demo to take place in Bağlar district on 9 October to mark the anniversary of the international conspiracy that ended Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan's being forced to leave Syria in 1998.

The Initiative said the conspiracy against the Kurdish leader was organized by the capitalist system and its subcontractors in the region with the support of collaborative Kurds.

The Initiative pointed out that the Kurdish leader has however defeated this conspiracy by enhancing the freedom struggle despite the solitary confinement he is being subject to for over 14 years today.

Mardin People's Initiative has also released a statement calling for strong participation in the protest demos to be staged in Mardin and its districts on 9 October.

Tens of thousands are expected to take to the streets in Kurdistan as well as abroad on 9 October this year to mark the anniversary of the international conspiracy against Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) leader  Abdullah Öcalan.
