Prisoner dies in solitary cell in Manisa

Prisoner Mehmet Sevinç has died after suffering cerebral bleeding in Akhisar Prison, in Manisa province.
Mehmet Sevinç, who had remained in Manisa Akhisar Prison for 28 years, has died. Sevinç was allegedly found unconscious at around 03:00 on April 3 by the prison guards in a solitary cell. He was taken to the Akhisar Mustafa Kirazoğlu State Hospital where he had an operation after suffering a cerebral bleeding.
His family members who had been waiting in front of the hospital for days were informed at 11:00 by the soldiers that he had died. Sevinç's body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy.

“They put my father into a solitary cell and killed him there. We are not given any information. We don't know why he died or what happened to him. Soldiers, not the doctors, informed us that he had died,” Berivan Sevinç, daughter of Mehmet Sevinç, told the Mezopotamya Agency.
