Protest against isolation in Bern and Zurich

Demonstrations against the aggravated isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continue alongside ongoing hunger strikes demanding an end to this inhuman and unlawful treatment.

Bern

Kurds And their friends organised an action  in Bern, Switzerland with the slogan “Let's break isolation, destroy fascism.”

Demonstrators gathered at Bahnhofplatz where the demo promoted by Bern Mizgin Women's Council was held.

The action was organised in solidarity with the Kurdish activists on hunger strike in several places. The hunger strikers have followed the protest launched by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven who is on hunger strike since 8 November.

A performance action was staged in support to the hunger strikes in prisons, Hewlêr, Wales and many European countries.

During the performance, activists had their hands tied with iron wires symbolizing prisons and held the photos of Leyla Güven, Nasir Yagiz, prisoners on hunger strike, the hunger strikers in Strasbourg.

Throughout the action, lasting about an hour, activists handed out leaflets informing people on the resistance.
