Protestors chant “Death to dictatorship” in Iran and Rojhilat

Tens of thousands of people chanted “death to dictatorship” during protests against the Iranian government in cities throughout Iran and Rojhilat (Eastern) Kurdistan.

Demonstrators protested corruption and economic crisis in Iran and clashed with Iranian forces. Local sources report that hundreds of people were detained during protests.

On Friday the protests spread to Rojhilat cities like Neysabur, Kashmer, Bornurd, Yez, Nushehre and Kermanshah. Thousands of people gathered in city centres to protest Iran’s spending on war and the economic crisis.

People built up barricades against Iranian police forces. The police attacked the crowd with rubber bullets and pepper gas. Dozens were reportedly injured in the attack.

Iran’s decision to cut off salaries also sparked protests in Iranian cities like Mesheb, one of the most populous cities in the country.

Protestors carried banners that read “Forget Assad, be interested in our conditions” and condemned Iranian regime for supporting Assad.

At least 52 protesters were detained by Iranian police in Mesheb.

Protesters called for unity and solidarity against the Iranian government and protested against policies of the Iranian regime.
