Protests against ISIS in London, Copenhagen and Munich
There were protests yesterday in London, Copenhagen and Munich at the attacks of ISIS gangs on Kobane and to condemn Turkish state support for ISIS gangs.
Kurdish people gathered in front of the Turkish embassy building after a call by the Britain representation of the PYD (Democratic Union Party) and the Kurdish People’s Assembly of Britain to demand the Turkish state end its support for ISIS gangs. Over 100 Kurds took part in the protest, holding posters of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and the flags of PYD and PKK.
The protestors opening a banner reading “unite against the terrorism of ISIS gangs” chanting slogans against the Turkish state.
The support of Turkey to ISIS gangs was vehemently condemned in statements made in English and Turkish, and the protestors called on the international powers to not remain silent against the ISIS gangs.
A file which was prepared in order to be given to the Turkish Embassy was not accepted by officials at the Embassy.
After the rally continued for over half an hour in front of the Embassy building, the protestors marched towards Downing Street and the rally ended in front of the Prime Minister's office.
COPENHAGEN
A group of non governmental organisations and political organisations carried out a protest in Copenhagen. The protestors called for weapons to be sent to the YPG and for humanitarian aid for the Kurdish people in Kobanê and Rojava.
Hundreds of Kurdish people joined the rally organised in front of the Danish Parliament. The Parliament spokesman of the association party (Enhedslisten), Pelle Dragsted, made a speech condemning Turkey for aiding and abetting the ISIS gangs. He called on Denmark to provide humanitarian aid and weapons for the YPG fighters.
Speeches were also made on behalf of Feykurd, PYD and PJAK.
MUNICH
A protest was also organised in the German city of Munich under the slogan “Take possession of the honourable resistance from Kobanê’ to Sinjar”, by NAV-DEM at which 200 people participated.
A rally also took place in front of the Municipal building in Munich.
Turkish support for ISIS gangs was condemned in speeches, and an appeal was made to European countries not to remain silent at the savagery and to prevent the large numbers travelling from Europe to join ISIS. A NAV-DEM representative said: "If ISIS savagery is not stopped, it will spread to Europe and all over the world."
The representative also stressed that fascists in Munich who had attacked Kurdish protests had joined ISIS.
Posters of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and KCK, PYD, and YPG flags were carried.
Left Party councillors Çetin Oraner and Brigitte Wolf and the DİDF Munich branch also supported the protest that ended with a march to the central station.
