PYD co-chair Abdullah: ISIS forcing Arab people to fight against Kurds

PYD (Partiya Yekitiya Demokratîk, Democratic Union Party) co-chair Asya Abdullah addressed via phone to the demonstrators who have been on hunger strike in the German city of Cologne in solidarity with the Kobanê resistance for 4 days.

Asya Abdullah who gave information about the present situation in Kobanê said ISIS gangs intensely attacking the town for the last two days are suffering heavy losses and prevented from advancing in the face of the brave resistance by YPG and YPJ forces.

Abdullah stressed that the attack on Kobanê targeted all the Kurds and the Kurdistan territory, adding; “There is an attempt to commit a massacre against Kurds but the international community is silent. This is a crime against humanity because the attack targets the humanity. Reactionary powers in the region that cannot tolerate the democratic and libertarian system established by the Armenian, Assyrian, Syriac and Kurdish peoples are using ISIS gangs. Kobanê would have been a second Sinjar by now were it not for this resistance.”

Asya Abdullah called on all Kurdish youths to join the resistance, stressing that this was the only way to ensure freedom and Kobanê's liberation. Abdullah also called on the Kurdish people in Europe to join and spread demonstrations in solidarity with Kobanê.

The PYD co-chair underlined that “Kobanê will never fall and resistance will never end as long as the attacks continue".

Abdullah also noted that ISIS gangs have deployed all their forces in the region around Kobanê, and are also forcing the Arab villagers in the region to fight against Kurds and to make peoples confront each other. “They are however not going to manage it”, Abdullah said and added that ISIS gangs have suffered heavy losses and large quantities of weapons belonging to them have been destroyed.
