Raqqa operation: Large numbers of civilians rescued
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters rescued dozens of civilians in Raqqa’s Nazlat Shehade neighborhood, while 16 gang members were killed in clashes.
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters rescued dozens of civilians in Raqqa’s Nazlat Shehade neighborhood, while 16 gang members were killed in clashes.
The Operation to Liberate Raqqa has continued for 63 days, and clashes continue in several spots throughout the city.
In clashes last night in the Nazlat Shehade neighborhood to the south of the city, fighters hit the gangs hard and killed 7 gangs members.
In the same neighborhood, landmines were set off on the route the civilians attempting to cross into SDF controlled areas use. SDF special units intervened immediately to rescue the civilians. 2 fighters were wounded in the rescue mission while the civilians were rescued unharmed.
In clashes in Old Town Raqqa, 5 gang members were killed. In clashes in al-Barid and Nahda neighborhoods to the northwest of the city, 4 gang members were killed.
