RedHack releases names of policemen claimed as Abdullah Cömert's killers
Socialist hacker group RedHack has released documents with the names of the police officers claimed as killers of Gezi protestor Abdullah Cömert.
22 year old Cömert died in the southern province of Hatay during Gezi protests on June 5. Eyewitnesses say that he died after being hit on the head with a tear gas canister.
The revolutionary socialist group has released the documents on their twitter account on Wednesday after they urged the government to end its fascistic policies and practices against the people demanding their rights.
The documents, which consist of lists of police officers who were on duty on the day of Cömert's killing in the area where he was killed, and names of those who drove TOMA (riot control vehicle) and fired tear gas on people, have been released in response to Turkish authorities who have not even opened an investigation against perpetrators so far, the hacker group said.
Six young people have lost their life as a result of excessive use of police force against people joining protests across the country as of early June; Mehmet Ayvalıtaş (20), Abdullah Cömert (22), Ali İsmail Korkmaz (19) Medeni Yıldırım (18), Ethem Sarısülük (26) and Ahmet Atakan (22).
Abdullah Cömert's lawyer Denizhan Erbek said on Wednesday that the cause of Cömert's death has not been officially determined yet.
