DEM Party Siirt (Sêrt) MP Sabahat Erdoğan Sarıtaş demanded that the unlawful policy of trustees appointment that has become a black mark on Turkish history must be abandoned. She told ANF that those who do not recognize the people and their will are doomed to lose.
Siirt Municipality co-mayor Sofia Alağaş was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison by the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court. Following the sentence given to her, Siirt Municipality was usurped and Siirt Governor Kemal Kızılkaya was appointed as trustee.
Erdoğan Sarıtaş said: "Our co-mayor had a case in Amed. She was sentenced because of her journalistic activities. We know very well why this case resulted in such a hasty sentence. They appointed trustees to the municipality in the early hours of the morning. They thought that when they appointed trustees in the dark, it would be secret, no one would hear. We will not allow our will to be ignored once again. We will continue our struggle until the end."
They are destroyed to lose
Erdoğan Sarıtaş said: “Today, for those who do not recognize the will of the people, every election has been shrunk and carried around in the pocket of this thieving civil servant. Everyone who does not recognize the will of the Kurdish people, who does not recognize the identity and culture of the Kurdish people has lost in the past, and they will lose too. Therefore, those who say peace on the one hand and do not recognize the will of the people, on the other hand, cannot make the Kurdish people step back from their struggle or stance with their hypocritical policies. We are always ready for an honorable peace, but we will always continue to struggle against unlawful decisions. No one, no one can take the will of the Kurdish people into submission.”
Give up unlawful practices
Erdoğan Sarıtaş addressed the government: "If you are talking about the century-old Kurdish and Turkish brotherhood, you have to recognize the will of this people. If you don’t, you are doomed to lose. That’s why we demand you to immediately reverse this unlawful trustee practice that has become a black mark on the history of Turkey."
Calling on Turkish society to stand by the Kurdish people against this unlawful decision, the DEM Party Siirt MP said: "The trustees came to Kurdistan to pillage and steal. I call on everyone to fight shoulder to shoulder with us in the name of peace."
