SDF Commander Berxwedan condemns joint attack by KDP and Turkish state in South Kurdistan

SDF Commander Mehmud Berxwedan reacted to the joint attack by the KDP and the Turkish state against the Medya Defense Areas and said: "The KDP must withdraw its forces. Fratricide clashes bring disaster."

While the invading Turkish state's attacks on South Kurdistan continue, the KDP continues to send its special forces to areas where guerrillas are located.

Commenting on the issue, SDF Commander Mehmud Berxwedan pointed out that some forces in South Kurdistan wanted to start a fratricide war and said: "We do not want a conflict between guerrillas and peshmergas. That would be a real disaster. Everyone should stay in their own space. Only if the peshmergas attack the guerrillas, will we react. Those lands do not belong just to KDP, they are also HPG lands. The KDP should withdraw its forces and stop attacking the guerrillas."

Noting that the KDP should not act in accordance to the dirty plans of the Turkish state, Commander Berxwedan emphasized that the KDP partnership with the Turkish state is "treason" and that they will take a stand against betrayal.

Commander Berxwedan also reacted to the statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Damascus Government, and said that they never intended to divide Syria.

He added that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been fighting for all peoples to get their rights since the day they were founded and added that the SDF is the guarantee of common life. “Arab, Kurdish, Assyrian, Chaldean and Turkmen live freely under the umbrella of the Autonomous Administration. The SDF liberated the region from the mercenaries. The SDF took important steps for democracy. We have paid a high price for this. Our main goal is to liberate the areas occupied by the Turkish state. We will continue our efforts for the liberation of Afrin, Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê.”
