A commander for Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Rojda Felat made a statement about the meeting of the eastern and western fronts in the campaign to liberate Raqqa from ISIS.
Felat said the followings;
“The operation to liberate Raqqa continues on eastern and western fronts for 66 days now. As part of the ongoing campaign, 12 neighborhoods have been liberated so far. The neighborhoods of Nazlat Shehad and Hisham Bin Abdulmalik south of the city have also been liberated today.
Liberation of both neighborhoods marks a huge blow for the ISIS gangs, and a great victory for us. All the movement points of the gangs in the city have been blocked and the circle on them has been tightened.
During this period, more than 600 Raqqan civilians have been rescued, provided with their needs and transferred to safe areas.
We congratulate the meeting of the two fronts for our martyrs, injured comrades and our combatants fighting on the front lines despite all challenging conditions.”
