Several people detained in political genocide operations

Several unionists, politicians and lawyers including SES Co-chair Gonul Erden and former HDP MP Mulkiye Birtane have been detained in political genocide operations.

Another political genocide operation was launched in several cities in the morning hours against politicians and unionists. Several people have been detained in police raids in Ankara, Izmir, Amed, Istanbul and Bursa.

ANKARA

Health and Social Workers Union (SES), Municipal and Local Administration Services Workers (TUMBEL-SEN) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) administrators and members were detained in raids in Ankara.

Identitites of known detainees are: SES Co-chair Gonul Erden, retired SES member Ramazan Tas, TUMBEL-SEN Secretary General Yilmaz Yildirimci, TUMBEL-SEN Central Executive Committee Member Adem Kaya, TUMBEL-SEN Supervisory Board Chairperson Yusuf Guler, former HDP Province Administrator Bahadir Demirca, former HDP Yenimahalle Chapter Co-chair Mahabat Akin, former HDP Cankaya District Administrator Davut Calisir, Haydar Ustundag, Zeki Isil, Lezgin Kutup, Aydin Keles and Lawyer Emrah Oner.

AMED

Former HDP Kars MP and Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Council Member Mulkiye Birtane was detained in a house raid in Amed.

Police searched Birtane’s home and took her to the District Security Directorate.

IZMIR

Over 20 people were detained in Izmir, including HDP Central Executive Committee Member Mahfuz Guleryuz and Census Member Gulay Gun Bilici.

Guleryuz was detained in the Adnan Menderes Airport as he was travelling to attend the HDP Central Executive Committee meeting. Others including Census Member Bilici and HDP Menemen District Administrator Mustafa Aydin and party member Katibe Ekyuce were detained in house raids and taken to the Anti-terror unit in the Province Security Directorate.

ISTANBUL

A law apprentice named Nimet Acar was detained in a house raid in Istanbul.

BURSA

Atakan Bozkurt, Merve Yildirim and another unidentified person were detained in house raids in Bursa and taken to the Province Security Directorate.
