Turkish police forces conducted simultaneous raids on several houses in Girne and Şahin neighborhoods in Tarsus district of southern Mersin province Saturday morning.

Six people were taken into custody in the operation, including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Tarsus district branch co-chair Mehdiye Çiçekdağ. The detainees were taken to the district police department.
