The Social Centre Victoria, in Milan (Italy) issued a solidarity statement with Leyla Güven and all political prisoners.

The statement said that “the Social Centre has joined the campaign launched worldwide to demand an end to the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan. We believe that isolation, like Ocalan’s detention, is a form of permanent torture under which he has been kept for 20 years.”

The statement also expressed concern for the latest developments in Turkey, Kurdistan and Northern and Eastern Syria. “The repression launched by Erdogan ultimately is responsibility also of the silence of the European countries, that has trade detention centres for migrants with the life of millions of Kurds.”

Solidarity with Güven from many Italian associations

Solidarity with Leyla Güven has also been expressed by a number of other associations, among them Associazione Voce Donna, Coordinamento Nord Sud del Mondo.
