Solidarity actions with hunger strikes in Wuppertal and Aachen

Leyla Güven's demands were stated to be the demands of the Kurdish people.

Solidarity actions were held in the German cities of Wuppertal and Aachen. 

Wuppertal

In the German city of Wuppertal the Viyan Women's Council and Democratic Kurdish Community Centre held an action in support of DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven who is on hunger strike for 69 days, as well as hunger strikers in Kurdistan, Turkey and Europe.

The action on Monday evening was also supported by MLPD and Linke Forum.

Representatives of the Wuppertal Women's Assembly and the Wuppertal Democratic Kurdish Community Center spoke about the action, recalling that the hunger strikes are carried out to demand the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Slogans supporting the hunger strike by Leyla Güven and against isolation were chanted by activists.

Aachen

A rally was held in Elisenbrunnen, in Aachen promoted by Deniz Fırat Women's Council to draw attention to Leyla Güven's resistance.

In the speeches held at the event which began with a minute’s silence, Leyla Güven's demands were stated to be the demands of the Kurdish people.
