Syrian government: Turkey is not complying with Idlib agreement

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallim stated that the Turkish state is not complying with the Idlib agreement.

According to the Sanaa News Agency, Foreign Minister Walid Muallim said, “Terrorists are still in the region along with their heavy weapons. This shows that Turkey is refusing to fulfill their commitments.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu argued that the agreement continues in compliance.

The Idlib agreement was made between Russia and Turkey in September. The agreement stipulates the forming of a buffer zone between areas held by Syrian forces and gang groups until October 15.

Ankara had committed to having the gangs remove heavy weapons from the region in this time. The Ankara regime claims that the gangs have in fact withdrawn the weapons, but there is no independent source to confirm this.
