People’s Defense Units (YPG) in Aleppo and Efrîn has released a statement on the last three days of clashes coinciding with the festivity of Eid al Adha. The statement said 24 members of al-Qaeda-linked gangs were killed and heavy weapons were seized by YPG in the villages of Qestel Cindo, Yazîbax and Meerîn. Clashes are still going on in the region, added the statement.
Clashes also were reported in the Ezaz region of Aleppo.
The statement said that although YPG General Command announced a period of no-attack during Eid al Adha, armed groups linked to the Iraq Islamic State and Damascus (ISID) did not cease the violence. Indeed they launched an attack on the first day of Eid and YPG responded to it in self-defense.
