Three people including one minor were taken into custody in the province of Van on Wednesday as a result of simultaneous police raids in a number of houses in the neighborhoods of Hacıbekir, Yenimahalle and Karşıyaka.

Scorpion-type armored vehicles blockaded the neighborhoods before the operation which was carried out by a number of policemen and special operation teams. Houses were all searched in detail for hours.

Speaking about the detention operations, Reyhan Abi, whose son was taken into custody, said that his child was taken into custody for joining demonstrations.

Abi strongly criticized the manner the operation was carried out, saying that Erdoğan does nothing other than raids and arrests in response to demands and steps for peace and a solution to the Kurdish question.

Three detainees were taken to the police headquarters of Van.
