Turkey launches investigation against newly elected HDP co-chair

Ankara Public Prosecutors office launched an investigation into the remarks by newly elected HDP co-chair Pervin Buldan and HDP MP Sirri Sureyya Onder in their party’s congress in Ankara on Sunday.

Turkish authorities launched an investigation into the remarks by newly elected Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Pervin Buldan and HDP MP Sirri Sureyya Onder.

Buldan and Onder spoke at their party’s third congress in Ankara and both criticized Turkey’s invasion operation on Afrin.

Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office released a statement and said that an investigation has been launched into the allegations that Buldan and Onder’s remarks made “propaganda for a terrorist organization” in the HDP congress on Sunday.
