Turkish-backed gangs and families settled in Afrin

Gangs affiliated with the Turkish army are evacuating the residents of Afrin’s Berava village by use of force, and settle their families in their place. Hundreds of gang members and their families brought in from Damascus region were settled in Jindires.

The Turkish state and affiliated gangs that have invaded and looted Afrin continue committing inhuman acts in order to change the demography of the region.

According to sources from Afrin, gang groups share the strategically important villages among themselves, and force the residents of these villages out of their homes.

Yesterday, Turkish soldiers and allied gangs forcibly evacuated the houses in the village of Berava in Afrin’s Shera district, and sent these people to the village of Chema. According to sources on the ground, gangs have started settling their own families in the place of the people they have expelled.

According to another source from Afrin, some 1700 gang members and their families have been brought to Afrin with 30 vehicles. These gang members, brought in from Qelemonê region of Damascus, are reportedly led by dozens of gang members and Jaysh al-Islam group.
