Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has confirmed Monday that Turkey is helping the peshmerga forces of South Kurdistan to cross into the town of Kobanê in West Kurdistan, Rojava, to help its defense in face of intensified attacks by ISIS gangs.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Tunisian counterpart, Mongi Hamdi, in the Turkish capital Ankara, the Foreign Minister said talks with the South Kurdistan government and the U.S. were still underway.

The Minister claimed Turkey was in full collaboration with the international coalition for Kobanê, defending that they sensitively obeyed the rules of engagement.
