It has been reported that Turkish soldiers have been laying ambushes in order to hinder the people involved in cross-border trade.

According to information obtained from local sources, soldiers deployed at Rizê military post in Şemdinli district of Hakkari are laying ambushes in the Zeytê Valley between 6 am and 6 pm every day since 20 March. The purpose of the recently increasing ambushing activity is said to obstruct the local people from earning their lives through cross-border trade.
