Two ministers' sons arrested in corruption probe
A total of 24 people have been arrested by an Istanbul court as part of the bribery and fraud investigation which has led to the detention of dozens of people since Tuesday, including the sons of three cabinet ministers, businessmen and senior bureaucrats.
Kaan Çağlayan, son of Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan, Barış Güler, son of Interior Minister Muammer Güler, Halkbank General Director Süleyman Aslan and Iranian-Azerbaijani businessman Reza Zerrab are among those arrested.
Environment and Urbanization Minister Erdoğan Bayraktar’s son Abdullah Oğuz Bayraktar, businessman Ali Ağaoğlu and Fatih district mayor Mustafa Demir are among those released by the court. The prosecutor's office has issued a ban on leaving the country for those who were released.
