US and Egypt agree to continue cooperation in Syria, Yemen, Libya

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the US President Donald Trump discussed the latest developments in the Middle East during a phone call on Monday evening.

Ambassador Bassam Radhi, spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, said the US President Donald Trump stressed the importance of the Egyptian role in achieving a political solution in Syria, Libya and Yemen.

According to a statement by the Egyptian presidency, the two presidents also stressed the importance of continuing to work to activate joint cooperation in a number of areas, especially the military field, counter-terrorism and extremist thought, in light of the common challenges and strategic relations between the two states.

Sisi also stressed Egypt's determination to continue its work in this regard to root out terrorism and the importance of continuing coordination with the American side to support these efforts.
