Vigil set up along border

In order to prevent the support of Turkey to the ISIS gangs on the Suruç-Kobanê border and to protect the resistance of Kobanê, a vigil has been initiated. The vigil, which is 25 km long, is in its second day. Thousands of people from North Kurdistan and different cities of Turkey are keeping vigil at 15 different points.

The vigil initiated in the villages of Etmanik, Mehser, Zehwan, Kazika, Merdêsimêl, Musik, Kop, Xerebesk, Elîzêr, Perepere, Oxan, Boydê, Hanêrk, Tilwerdan and Siwêdê which are located at the border, continued during the night.

Protestors coming from Mardin, Adana, Mersin, Batman, Hakkari, Muş, Erzurum, Wan and Siirt  maintained the vigil by rota at the check points set up in the villages at the border all night.

People living in the villages near the border have said that since the ISIS gangs launched their attacks on Kobanê with heavy weapons and tanks, the electricity supply has been cut off, and have also drawn attention to the fact that mobile phones have no reception.

Aircraft have also been observed in the region during the night. Civil vehicles have crossed the border under the supervision of Turkish troops. It is thought these vehicles were carrying munitions for the ISIS gangs.
